Steve McDonnell: Art Director
Aside from his amazing design and illustrative abilities, Steve is the only member of the Keewatin team who really knows what is going on, and is the man responsible for getting things done in the most expedient and efficient manner.
It's really rather pointless to even list any of the other members (but we have to anyway, just to be fair)- Steve is the GO TO GUY and has a portfolio website for his design company @ www.dalek.ca

Dr. Tony Harras – Executive Editor
Tony recently received the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal. This provincial government decoration is awarded to citizens who have provided, without reward or gain, outstanding volunteer service or exceptional community involvement in an area beyond their normal duties or profession. Its appropriate since Tony has spent so much of his time helping others. As Editor of Keewatin publications Tony has an equally strong sense of commitment to fair and balanced presentation of the scientific, economic and public interest issues that are reflected in our publications.

      Lisa Doucet – Design Associate
Over the years Lisa has been responsible for the design aspects of many projects for Keewatin. An independent graphics designer from Edmonton, Lisa is used to working with tight timelines, outrageous demands from clients and other nearly impossible assignments. She always delivers!

    Paul Hanley – Content Associate
Paul is an environmentalist without compromise. He has written an environmental column for a daily newspaper for almost twenty years. His work at Keewatin includes suggesting topics and writing articles as well as overall storyboard design. Paul is one of our quality control guardians.

      Jennifer Atherton – Student Associate
Jennifer is a graduate in environmental design (architecture) from the University of Manitoba and is currently studying environmental science. She contributes story material on projects and assists with product distribution in Manitoba. As a student, she is also looking for a full time, better paying job when she graduates and would be a credit to any employer who appreciates brains and a good work ethic.

Brian Bowman – Writer and Copy Editor
Brian is a seasoned editor and publisher. Over the years he has edited outdoors magazines as well as providing technical editing services to a number of environmental publications in western Canada. Semi-retired (he only works 8 hour days now) Brian helps to pull projects together when others only see the details.

      Michelene La Flamme – Translator
Michelene lives and works in Ottawa where she is a professional translator. Her work involves publications for bilingual associations and for clients with environmental and science translation requirements. She also provides a good National Capital presence.

John Belhumeur – First Nations Contributor
Living on the West Coast, John Belhumeur is of Cree ancestry from northern Manitoba. He has been involved with natural resource and communications issues for most of his professional life. He has contributed to publications on native traditional knowledge, mining and other First Nations issues. In addition to his professional work, he is also active in native oral traditions.

Mark Oldershaw – Science Teacher Advisor
Mark is a high school science teacher and is not in any way financially involved with Keewatin (thank goodness) but he donates a lot of his time suggesting topics for consideration and reviewing story boards for suitability. Even though Mark isn’t paid for his work, his pizza bill has become a significant part of Keewatin’s operational budget.

      Richard Osborne - Science Advisor
has at times been described by some of us as a nit-picking biophysicist. But we guess that can’t be helped since with a Bachelors degree in Natural Science from Cambridge University and a PhD in Biophysics from London University he comes by it honestly! Richard has been involved with scientific research for his entire professional career. At the time of his retirement he was Director, Health & Environmental Sciences Division for a Canadian government crown corporation. Since his retirement Richard has been retained by Canadian and International regulatory agencies for his expertise. He helps Keewatin by reviewing and commenting on the overall suitability of science-based articles as well as contributing to story-board development and research.

    Walter Keyes – Publisher
Walter is probably the last person you will want to meet in Keewatin. In addition to being an accountant by training, his appearance usually means more work for everyone else including last minute changes, rewrites, press stops, and other unsettling events. Despite all of the above, Walter is also one of our key writers, he writes the cheques to keep the operation going. We don’t mess with Walter.
